Using Voice vs. Text Prompts
Kulp lets you create software by simply describing what you want. You can do this in two ways:
Last updated 7 months ago
Text Prompt - Type it out
Voice Prompt - Speak your idea
Both work the same behind the scenes, but each offers unique advantages depending on how you think and work.
Using Text Prompts
When to use:
You already have a clear idea in mind
You want to write bullet points or copy-paste from notes
You’re working in a quiet or public space
How it works:
Start a new project
Type your prompt in the input box (e.g., “Build a booking system with calendar and payment integration.”)
Hit “Submit” to proceed to enhancement and feature selection
Pro tip: Keep it simple, but clear. Use everyday language.
Using Voice Prompts
When to use:
You’re brainstorming out loud
You’re on mobile or away from your keyboard
You want to speak more naturally or conversationally
How it works:
Click the microphone icon in the prompt input field
Start talking - describe your idea as you would to a teammate
Kulp will transcribe your voice and turn it into a prompt
You can always edit the text after Kulp transcribes it.
What Happens After You Submit
Regardless of input method, Kulp will:
Interpret your prompt
Suggest enhancements
Offer features to include
Start generating your product
There’s no difference in AI performance between voice or text - the experience is the same once your idea is submitted.
"You can also use voice chat directly from the regular chat window."
Can I switch between the two?
Yes! You can:
Start with voice, then edit as text
Type part of your idea, then speak the rest
Use whichever works best for your process
Best Practice
Think of Kulp like you’re explaining an idea to a smart teammate.
Whether you type or talk, just focus on what you want the tool to do - not how it should be built.
